Conductive Education

The uniqueness of CE in SAHK lies in its deployment of pedagogical methods (i.e. teaching and learning oriented towards social goals) for cultivating the self-identity, self-discipline and self-determination. These are crucial ‘personality factors’ in developing potentials among all children, especially those with special needs.

In SAHK, CE is an open system which has incorporated and complements a wide range of conventional therapies that aim at bridging the sensori-motor deficits of our clients. The whole-day programming of the CE system serves to reinforce their therapeutic outcomes through instilling an active lifestyle within a life-long upbringing process. In order to ensure maximum participation in real-life situations, specific training in activities of interest are practiced repetitively in a wide range of contexts.

CE is a life-course approach, having as its ultimate goal facilitating the transition from ‘professional care’ to ‘self-management’. In order to equip our clients to take charge of their own lives, CE empowers them to become self-reliant and resilient in facing life’s challenges.
