Work in Mainland, Taiwan and Macau

Invited by World Vision China, the Association organised a visiting tour for more than 30 senior management executives from China Foundation for Disabled Person, China Disabled Person’s Federation and other rehabilitation organisations in mainland to visit our rehabilitation units. The tour aims to enhance visitors’ understanding of our diversified services and the "Holistic Approach” we adopt in our services.

The guests visited three rehabilitation units of the Association, they included:

1. Jockey Club Elaine Field School –The school developed integrated programme to coordinate the curriculum, teaching and rehabilitation training of students’ learning and school life in order to facilitate the holistic development of students.

2. Jockey Club New Page Inn – Fitting the individual need of tetraplegics to help them return to home and community progressively.

3. LOHAS Garden – A variety of facilities and services enhances the social adaptability and employment opportunity of the trainees, so as to help them to become a more active part of the society.

During the visit, professionals of mainland and Hong Kong exchanged their experiences and strategies of holistic approach on rehabilition sector and we hope that it will foster the development of rehabilitation services in the two places.

Mr. Fong Cheung Fat (first left), Chief Executive Officer of the Association, and Mrs. Louisa Law (left-second), Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Association, accompanied the guests to see the demonstration of the page-turning aid used in the School.

A therapist of Jockey Club New Page Inn introduced the facilities and approach of our continuous rehabilitation training.

The guests visited the rooftop garden of LOHAS Garden to understand how gardening benefits the persons with disabilities.
