Everything is Understood without Uttering a Word: Easydial
Every October is designated as "AAC Awareness Month". AAC, is also known as Augmentative and Alternative Communication, hoping to arouse people's attention for those who have complex communication needs and provide them with greater support.
Earlier, the Association collaborated with the Chinese University of Hong Kong to develop the Easydial application. It has more than 720 images, allowing users to choose to click on, and can be used to form simple sentences. With the artificial voice function, people with congenital disabilities or acquired illnesses can still express their thoughts clearly and directly.
Recently, service users of Community Support Services have made great efforts to learn to use Easydial to communicate with people around them, which has greatly enhanced their participation in daily life, made their lives both convenient and happy.
