關愛頌歌賀國慶(Chinese only) at Siu Lam Greenery Villa

Siu Lam Integrated Rehabilitation Services Complex is currently the largest comprehensive rehabilitation service centre in Hong Kong. The Association operates Siu Lam Greenery Villa (GV) in the complex, providing 310 places of integrated vocational rehabilitation training service and hostel service.

On 26 October 2024, Mr. Chris SUN, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Ms Alice LAU, JP, Permanent Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Miss Charmaine LEE, JP, Director of Social Welfare, Mr. Fletch CHAN, Commissioner for Rehabilitation, were joined by more than 80 volunteers from Labour and Welfare Bureau, Social Welfare Department (SWD) and SWD Choir visited the complex and participated in the "關愛頌歌賀國慶" (Chinese only) activity with the trainees and service users of GV and the other two operators.

Mrs. Josephine PANG, BBS, MH, Chairperson of the Association, Mr. Benjamin WONG, Chairperson of Adult Service Management Committee cum Volunteer Supervisor of Siu Lam Greenery Villa, Mr. Victor PANG, Chairperson of Corporate Communication Advisory Committee cum Member of Adult Service Management Committee, Ms Louise YIP, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Ms Winnie HUI, Head (Adult Service) and Ms Vicky LEE, Superintendent of GV joined this meaningful activity too.

The vibe of the event was lively. In addition to expressing their care for service users, the volunteers also played games, sang songs, and practised "Laughter Yoga" together and distributed gifts. The chorus session pushed the atmosphere of the event to a new height. All guests and service users sang various classic hits and had a great time. The service users of the Association were even more excited and danced along to the music, showcasing their happiness.

After the interaction between guests, service users and the volunteer team, they toured the facilities within the Complex. Representatives of the Association introduced the design and equipment across different zones of GV, allowing the guests and volunteers to gain a deeper understanding of the various services and facilities..
