The Association’s Greenery Villa officially opened

The Association’s Greenery Villa, located in the Siu Lam Integrated Rehabilitation Services Complex (the Services Complex) covering an area of over 40,000 square feet, officially opened on 28 February! The Association is fortunate to be one of the three operating organizations in the building, providing 310 places for vocational rehabilitation and residential services for moderately mentally handicapped persons and persons with severe physical disabilities.

The Opening Ceremony invited Mr. CHAN Kwok-ki, GBS, IDSM, JP, Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr. Chris SUN, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Ms LAU Yim, Alice, JP, Permanent Secy for Labour and Welfare, Labour and Welfare Bureau, Mr. Edward TO Wing-hang, Director of Social Welfare and government representatives as officiating guests. Mr. CHAN Kwok-ki, GBS, IDSM, JP, Chief Secretary for Administration delivered speech and hold the plaque unveiling ceremony with government officials.

Mrs. Josephine PANG, BBS, MH, theChairperson of the Association, Mr. David YAU, Vice Chairperson of the Association, Ms Winnie LEUNG, Vice Chairperson of the Association, Mr. Benjamin WONG, Vice Chairperson of the Association and Chairperson of the Adult Service Management Committee, Ms Jacqueline CHOW, Honorary Secretary of the Association, Mr. Mason WU, Honorary Treasurer of the Association, Mr. Michael PANG, Council Member of the Association, Ms Vivian TSUI and Mr. Billy TAM, Member of the Adult Service Management Committee, Ms Edith HUNG, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Association and Ms Winnie HUI, Head, Adult Service joined together.

Before the Opening Ceremony, the guests visited the main facilities of Greenery Villa including Café Greenery, a light meal coffee shop that provides diverse vocational rehabilitation training for service users in a green environment. They also explored the anti-wandering system and invited family members of service users and guests to share the fun of using "Family Co-living Room”. Additionally, the guests also participated in making almond shortbreads and took photos with service users in the "Cookery Training Room”. The guests praised the services provided by Greenery Villa’. The guests also visited the Time Corridor specially set up by the ceremony, which displayed many precious pictures related to the building's architecture, as well as art works created by service users from the three operating organisations, showcasing the creative potential of people with disabilities.
