SAHK Inter-school Game Day
On 28 March, the Association’s three special schools including Ko Fook Iu Memorial School, B M Kotewall Memorial School and Jockey Club Elaine Field School organised "SAHK Inter-school Game Day" at Ma On Shan Sports Centre. A total of 655 teachers and students participated in the event, and Mr. Kenneth LEE, the Association’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, also attended as the officiating guest to encourage everyone.
The theme of the event was "Olympic Spirit, Inspiring Potential," aiming to engage participants in various sports games, immersing them in sports culture while promoting good physical fitness and stamina in a lively and exciting atmosphere. On the day, a total of 26 students, parents, and staff from the Jockey Club Marion Fang Conductive Learning Centre also participated in the event. Notably, a volunteer team of 75 students from the Department of Sports and Recreation Leadership of the School of Continuing Education at Hong Kong Baptist University was present to help set up the game booths and maintain order throughout the day. Their hard work was greatly appreciated!
The event featured a variety of activities, including 18 game booths showcasing popular and emerging sports such as fencing, taekwondo, floor curling, and rowing. Through tactile, visual, and auditory sensory cues, students were guided by different senses to experience a variety of Olympic sports. The program also included cheerleading performances and a three-school competition, allowing participants to challenge their intelligence, strength, and teamwork.
The final results were that Ko Fook Iu Memorial School, B M Kotewall Memorial School and Jockey Club Elaine Field School won the Full Participation Award, the Best Performance Award, and the Best Cheerleading Award respectively.
The successful organisation of the game day was made possible not only by the support of volunteers from Hong Kong Baptist University but also by the generous in-kind donation of various toys from Hasbro Hong Kong as prizes for the event. The Association would like to express its heartfelt gratitude once again!
