The Jockey Club End-of-Life Community Care Project: Unison (JCECC: Unison)

Birth, aging, illness, and death are inevitable stages of life. In addition to caring for people with disabilities across all age groups, the Association has recently launched the 'Jockey Club End-of-Life Community Care Project: Unison' to provide physical, psychological, social, and spiritual support for individuals with late-stage illnesses and disabilities. The goal is to accompany them through the final chapter of their lives and also to enhance the quality of life for both individual and carers.

On 16 June, Mr. Edmond Y. P. LAU, Chief Executive Officer of the Association, together with Ms. Dawn S. F. TANG LIU, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, and five other representatives, were invited to attend the launch ceremony and seminar of the Jockey Club End-of-Life Community Care Project: Unison. The ceremony provided a valuable opportunity for exchanging insights with peers in this field. The ceremony was officiated by Mr. Chris SUN, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare. Distinguished guests included Dr. Henry H. L. CHAN, Steward of The Hong Kong Jockey Club; Dr. CHING Wai Kuen, Director (Strategy and Planning Division) of the Hospital Authority; and Professor Ming WEN, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of The University of Hong Kong.

All attendees hoped that the project would address the end-of-life care needs of people across different age groups.
