Share pioneering experience and promote regularisation of the scheme
The Integrated Community Rehabilitation Center scheme will be regularised in the third quarter of this year. The Association's New Territories West Integrated Community Rehabilitation Center (ICRC) is the first batch of pilot projects and has so far provided more than 6,000 sessions of therapeutic nursing services and more than 3,000 sessions of home-based services.
The Association held a seminar "Regularisation of Integrated Community Rehabilitation Services – A new milestone for Community Services” on 8 August this year to share the ICRC's service experience and effectiveness with 300 counterparts.
The Association was honoured to have Mr. David W. L. NG, Assistant Director of Social Welfare Department (Rehabilitation and Medical Social Services), and Mr. David P. W. YAU, Vice-Chairperson of the Association cum Chairperson of the Community Support Services Management Committee, as officiating guests. Other guests included Ms Heidi S. K. HUI, Convener of the Special Needs Trust Working Group of the Hong Kong Rehabilitation Program Review Working Group of the Rehabilitation Advisory Committee, Mr Edmond Y. P. LAU, Chief Executive Officer of the Association and Ms Dawn S. F. TANG, Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
Dr. Ivan Y. W. SU, Head of Professional and Program Development of the Association, highlighted at the seminar that ICRC uses the "International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health" (ICF) as a framework to formulate rehabilitation and training plans for service users, implement coherent training services in day center training and home care services, provide one-stop support for persons with disabilities and their families, and share the results of the effectiveness survey so far of the service implementation.
300 industry professionals attended the seminar.
