Renaming Ceremony of SAHK Lim Hong Oun Child Development Centre

The Association was lack of resources when it was established in 1963. Invited by Dr. B. M. Kotewall, founder member of SAHK, Madam Lim Hong Oun spared no efforts to contribute the development of SAHK and lent her office for conducting different meetings. Madam Lim devoted herself in the position of Supervisor of the Association’s Mount Parrish School and Ko Fook Iu Memorial School for over ten years. From 1980 to 2001, she acted as the Supervisor of the Association’s Apleichau Pre-school Centre which was the first Pre-school Centre with residential services for children with special needs in Hong Kong. Besides, she made great contribution by working as the Association’s Council Member and Honorary Advisors.

Madam Lim generously donated HKD one million to enhance the service of child development by improving the facilities and environment so as to provide appropriate service to meet the demands of the children in need. To honour the remarkable contribution, the Association renamed the Child Development Centre (Fortress Hill) to SAHK Lim Hong Oun Child Development Centre. The Renaming Ceremony was carried out on 2 January 2019.

Yeung Lu, Chairperson of Children and Family Support Service Management Committee, Ms Madalina Y. T. Wu, Mrs. Lim’s daughter-in-law cum Supervisor of SAHK Apleichau Pre-school Centre and Mr. Eddie K. T. Suen, Chief Executive officer officiated the plaque unveiling ceremony. Family members of Madam Lim, Mr. Herman H. C. Tsoi, and Vice Chairperson witnessed the important moment together with the Association’s Council Members, Honorary Advisors and Management Members. They also visited the centre and learnt about the service.
