ADHD Parents' Thoughts on Radio Programme
Many` parents often express that caring for children with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can be challenging. However, with the right approach, it is possible to gradually improve children's behavior. Recently, one parent who participated in the "Jockey Club Keen and Active Kids Project (JCKAK)" was invited by the Jockey Club and The University of Hong Kong team to share her experiences on the Commercial Radio 903 programme《兒童適宜》(Chinese only). During the interview, she discussed her experiences in caring for a child with ADHD, the benefits gained from participating in the project, and successful strategies for supporting her son, encouraging other families having similar experiences.
The JCKAK project, funded and supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, aims to provide support for ADHD students in mainstream primary and secondary schools through a school-based model. Thanks to the dedication of the staff, the Association has received continued funding from the Jockey Club Charities Trust to extend the project. As of now, the project is entering its fifth year and is in its third phase, providing support to more students, parents, and schools in need.
